A SIGNIFICANT GIFT FOR CHARITY AT CHRISTMAS TIME

The Hobart branch of Make-A-Wish received an early Christmas present when Wilson Homes presented them with a cheque for $224,367.

The generous donation from Wilson Homes comes at the end of a 12 month project that saw over 50 Tasmanian businesses join together to build a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in Cambridge.

This is the second Wish Home that has been built by Wilson Homes over a 2 year period and will help greatly to grant the wishes of children like 9 year old local boy Samuel, diagnosed with ganglioneuroblastoma (brain tumour) who in September this year received his wish to attend the AFL grand final.

Janine Arnold, Make-A-Wish Hobart branch President, said she is thrilled by the partnership between Make-A-Wish, Wilson Homes and K&D Warehouse that saw the children’s charity receive a cheque, which Samuel accepted on its behalf.

“Our friends at Wilson Homes and K&D Warehouse have been such amazing supporters of Make-A-Wish for a number of years now. They really are a part of the Make-A-Wish family.”

“This incredibly generous outcome will help realise the wishes of children like Samuel”.

Wilson Homes General Manager, Scott Wilson is pleased to be able to help Make-A-Wish with their fundraising goals.

“We have seen first-hand the healing power of a wish and we couldn’t think of a better way to support the work that Make-A-Wish do.”

As the leading wish granting Australian charity for children with life threatening illnesses, Make-A-Wish knows that there are thousands of eligible children who would benefit from the healing power of a wish, and as such, is working hard to grant more and more each year.
